Versa 3 heart rate inaccuracy

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I’ve noticed over the past couple of days that my Versa 3 seems to be having issues tracking my heart rate. When I’m exercising it’s saying my heart rate is in the 90’s and I’m dripping in sweat and breathless. Is there anything that anyone can recommend doing or a solution to this? Thanks

I forgot to mention that I also uninstalled all clock faces and factory reset the device last week. Result were the same.

This is frustrating especially if you have been using Fitbit in the past.

Can we please have updates on this soon please, I just upgraded to my 3rd Versa and do not want to feel like I made a wrong decision.

@MarreFitbit Hi everyone - Thanks for letting us know about this issue with the accuracy of the heart rate monitor. We’re aware of it and are working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible.

Is there an estimate of time anticipated to achieve a resolution as quickly as possible?

Same issues with Versa 2.

Can't you give us a ballpark time frame on when a software fix for Versa 3 HR problems will be fixed?

Is it a week? a month? many months? It's not right to keep us in the dark - i'm relying on the HR for health reasons.

Thanks

I've seen this between my Ionic and brand new Versa3, I have each one on separate phones and separate accounts with my details for testing, if I wear on device on one wrist and the other on my other wrist they rarely agree, most of the time the Versa3 reads 10 to 25% higher. During exercise it was the other way around, I found the Versa3 showing 131 bpm and my Ionic showing 164 bpm at the same time, but at other times it would be reversed and the Versa3 would sometimes show a higher reading during exercise, rarely did they both show even similar readings.

Looks like it may have to be returned for a refund if its not fixed anytime soon, in the meantime ill be checking them both against accurate benchmarks such as chest strap / finger pulse sensor / ECG device.

Switch out of the Fitbit family.

You asked for advice and that's the best advice anyone can give you.

I'm having this issue with my Versa 2. Same exact problem. I workout everyday and have been for a long time.

Researching on a Garmin device at this point.

Fitbit is a joke with customer support. They might as well have money and not have any customer support at all. All they have been doing for years is guide you on how to restart the faulty device and provide excuses on why something may not be right instead of actually acknowledging and fixing the problem.

Best Answer

Of course you know when something isn't working. But Fitbit customer support is there to feed to BS reasons for common problems with their device. There will never be a fix for any of these complaints that people have. Instead the device will die after a year and in they meantime Fitbit will release a new version like Versa 4 Sense 2 etc.

Best Answer

Software issue or hardware issue, you won't get a fix ever. Support will keep promising you that it will be resolved until your device dies and then you will be coaxed into getting into a new version of the same crap. The cycle repeats.

Best Answer

There is a time estimate that Fitbit has internally decidedly to fix the issue. Problem is that you or I or humanity won't be around alive when it's fixed

Since google bought Fitbit they will let the Fitbit operating system die, and substitute whatever google smartwatch operating system they have. THERE WILL NEVER BE A FIX THE CURRENT FITBIT!!! I'll be switching to Garmin!!!

I totally agree. I gave up and bought a Polar Vantage V2. It accurately tracks my heart rate which is what I really needed. I miss my versa3 but the one thing I needed it to do, it didn't. The Polar isn't really a fun smart watch, it's geared towards training. But in the end, that's what I needed. We will see what google does with Fitbit.

Same exact story - I literally bought a Versa 3, hoping to correct the heart rate inaccuracy I experienced with my Versa 2. The only pattern I can recognize is that it won't read properly most often if my heart rate accelerates too quickly from the beginning of my workout. This is so frustrating! I feel as if this inaccuracy really diminishes the value I'm receiving from my fitbit.

This still isn’t fixed, I’m having the same issues in august. For a 230$ watch you would expect this to be accurate. I’m running at 6 MPH for 10 minutes and my heart rates at 90 bpm? No way. You guys still haven’t fixed anything with this.

Hi Becky
Took my Versa 3 back to the retailer in the UK some months ago and
was refunded.
Went back to my Charge 2 - but (!) went mad at the weekend and bought a
Charge 4. After 3 days it seems OK - so far! 😏

I think this is dangerous, I stopped jogging because my heart was averaging 150 and peaking at 180, I decided to switch to a walk that included a climb, this reduced my heart rate to an average of 120 and peaking around 135 which is much better for a 60 yr old. However, my heart still felt strained afterwards and on closer examination the versa 3 is showing that my heart rate goes down to the 80’s as I approach the top of the steps. It has increased my calorie burn for the step climb so must recognise the increased effort. Could it be the rapid acceleration in heart rate it can’t cope with?38B01150-3782-46DD-8BD7-353E7F41E3DE.jpeg

I’m so disappointed with the versa3 - the pulse reader is so inaccurate. It suddenly shoots up to 140+ and I’m sitting down! When driving it is again, very inaccurate. I did have the Ionic which was far more accurate and only changed because it stopped working.

So disappointed - will look elsewhere soon!
