Versa 3 heart rate monitor isn't accurate

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

i bought this versa 3 a cuple of months ago after owning a charge device

since ive been useing it the heart monitor gets more and more irratic

in the middle of HIIT workouts when im blowing out my rear end with a high heart rate the device shows a big drop in heart rate then picks up again this is happening more and more

after trying other trackers <my old charge device> and a fiends samsung galaxy watch doing the same workout they do not show a drop.

is the versa 3 faulty ?

is this a bug ?

do fitbit care ?

have i been ripped off ?

im left with a new device that wasnt cheap and is not accurate for what i want to use it for.

does anyone else have this problem ?

regards and seasons greetings

steveo

ps ive treid factory resets and cleaning the heart monitor with alcohol wipes to no avail

i have been in touch with fit bit customer services via the online chat system

very impressive and happy to help

however .....

after them accepting there was an issue with my device they asked me to send it back to them for a replacement for which i was happy to do so.

the new replacement arrived a week later ( a week with out a tracker drove me nuts when exercising).

i opened the box removed the protective film from the charging port and set to charge the new replacement device

nothing

wont power on or charge up.

the power button appears to be stuck in or glued in.

after reading the documentation that came with the replacement device it states its a refurbed versa 3 replacement (i never bought a refurbed device to start with i bought it new and was not cheap !!!)

went back to online chat and after a few mins they asked me to send it back and another replacement will be sent (guessing thats another week without a tracker :@ ).

my gripe is why send a refurbed faulty device to someone that has had nothing but trouble from the start with a faulty versa 3 ?
my only hope now is when the new "refurbed replacement" arrives it is fully functioning and working !

thanks fitbit !!!

next time im off to Garmin !!!

I've had the Versa 3 two weeks now and experience the same problem.  HR tracking during my runs is all over the place - today during a slow MAF jog Versa 3 was frequently giving me readings in excess of my max HR.  It seems to cope OK with walks however but it's absolutely of no use to me if it can't monitor HR during a run.  😠

For anyone who's still experience ongoing HR monitoring issues here's something that appears to have fixed the problems I was observing.  While it's generally recommended to wear the device back from the wrist  - say one finger width, I actually tried it well back -  more like three or four finger widths back from the wrist bone.  While it may seem an odd place to wear it I put it to the test on a run yesterday and the results were a massive improvement over the previous days run.  The HR readings were now steady,  they where I'd expect them to be, and they tracked very well with increased intensity on hills etc.  And, most importantly there was absolutely no sign of the the erractic readings and spikes that I'd been seeing previously.

I had charge 2 and charge 3 previously and I was satisfied with them both. Decided to get Versa 3 and even though felt like it not very accurate to begin with, I wanted to give it a chance. 3 months in and I am sooo disappointed.

Heart Rate accuracy is horrendous, running distance and steps are all over the place.

I will be contacting Fitbit, as I've wasted my money
