Hi,

My Versa 3 is not tracking sleep, I have been wearing watch for 4 nights. The first night it track 4hrs when I slept about 6.5. the next 3 it hasn't picked up anything. I am recording a HR and synching watch but nothing is being transferred to app. Very frustrating as I have to record sleep for my shiftwork.

Hi there, @PaulGill. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the inconvenience with your Versa 3. I understand where your concern is coming from and how you must be feeling. @Guy_ Thanks for your help!

I recommend considering the following in order to get sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

For more information, see What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages?

Hi, @PaulGill  - it has to have at least 3 hours of continuous sleep to register. If your sleep gets interrupted or is very restless it might not measure it correctly.

@PaulGill  - sync the watch and try a full Shutdown from the watch Settings menu. Wait at least 10 seconds before placing on the charger to restart it and charge it. See if that helps tonight.

If you have tattoos if may be a problem, check how well the heart rate is working at rest, and consider changing arms at night to where there are no tattoos.

You can also set a sleep schedule in the watch settings and change the sleep sensitivity in your web account dashboard. That may help also.

I have tried everything to get my sleep data working again.  Nothing has worked.  I will be discontinuing the premium upgrade and won't be buying a Fitbit again.  I have seen a plethora of complaints about this.  What is Fitbit doing about it?  Why do companies change things which are working correctly instead of actually fixing things which aren't.  This all started when you updated the sleep app recently.  I like the graphics better on previous one.  Completely frustrated 😠  and have spent time I will not get back going through all these worthless steps to fix it.

Hi @joanjaikaram - is it tracking heart rate properly, if you have tattoos it may not be working for that and nor sleep.
