Versa 3 is not tracking my swim laps accurately

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I swam 1000m today in a 50m pool (lengths correctly selected), fitbit says I swam 1,750!  It did similar in my last swim - gave me 1,500m for only 800m.  I do freestyle one lap and backstroked the return - this was never a problem with previous versa.

Any suggestions?

Hi there, @Aussie58. Thanks for stopping by in the Community Forums and the details provided in your post about the issue with your Versa 3. I understand where your concern is coming from.

As a first approach, I'd recommend to double check that your pool length is set correctly. For instructions, see How do I set the pool length for my Fitbit device?

Also, keep in mind that unlike the other Fitbit devices, on Versa 3 the water lock turns on automatically when you start a swim in the Exercise app. So, make sure you're turning this feature off as soon as you end your swim activity. To do so, press the button to turn off water lock. For more information, see Can I swim or shower with my Fitbit device?

Hope this helps.

Hi, I have done all that - set lap length and turn off at end of swim.  I do alternate swim strokes, which some people have said impacts, but I don't understand why - used to be fine with Versa 2.  It consistently doubles my swim length overall - I had started using the food app as well, but I am getting credit for 1.6km swim instead of 750m, so it gets a bit out!  Looks like nothing I can do to fix it though, which is disappointing.
