Did you recently start doing some runs with GPS? If so, that gives a better measurement of fitness level and gives you a single measurement instead of a range. Without GPS runs, it is more of an estimate and gives a range instead of an exact number.
Not to be overly picky, but to avoid confusion, we call that the cardio fitness score; just because heart rate zone refers to the heart rate ranges for the fat burn and cardio levels of exercise intensity.

Here's the help section that talks about this. I think it goes into more detail about how it is measured and the use of GPS and running for measurement, such as best to run on level and at least 10 minutes for measurement.
What is my cardio fitness score?
