My Fitbit will start a count when I am active. I’m not sure if this is supposed to happen or the edge is getting pushed somehow because I wear it on my right hand.

@B-Btreas Thanks for those details. I might be that you have SmartTrack enabled. Fitbit devices automatically recognize and record high-movement activities through the SmartTrack feature. To start, the default duration settings of your Versa 3 is 15 minutes long. However, you can also choose which activities your device tracks automatically, or change the amount of time needed to record the activity. To do so, please follow the next steps:

  1. Tap the Today tab, then tap the Exercise tile.
  2. Tap the gear icon in the top right.
  3. Tap an exercise, and adjust the duration or turn off Auto-recognize.

You can learn more about the SmartTrack feature in this link How do I track my activity with my Fitbit device?

Hope this helps.

Hi there, @B-Btreas. Welcome to the Community Forums.

To better assist you, would you mind to provide more details about which stats you're referring to? If you're seeing calories and steps upon waking up, this is an expected behavior.

Keep in mind that sometimes you may get get steps when waking up, but is due to Fitbit devices may register movements or restlessness as steps when you're wearing it while you sleep. The number of steps typically measured during these periods is minimal, and should not offset your overall fitness progress. Any steps taken to and from other rooms during the night will also be tracked.

As for the calories burned, the value that you see on your Versa 3 when you wake up in the morning is your estimated calorie burn for the day so far. You still burn calories even if you have been sedentary or were sleeping. We estimate your calorie burn based on your age, gender, height and weight. You burning calories even when you are sleeping. When you are not wearing your Fitbit then it is estimate your passive calories burned. That what you see on the dashboard at the morning.

For more information, see How accurate are Fitbit devices?

Hope this helps.

Thank you for your response.

But what I was referring to was the activity/exercise clock.  Sometimes I maybe doing something that involves moving (ex preparing dinner), I’ll notice that the exercise clock is running without my settings it. I think because I wear my Fitbit on my right arm, it is more vulnerable to being activated by hitting the side button.

I was wondering if the activity clock is sometimes started by arm movements.
