Versa 3 is tracking my cardio fitness score too low

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I had an inspire for 6 months and my cardio fitness score was in the 40s.  Switched to the Versa 3 and it went down to 32.  That was a few months ago and my fitness has improved since then, but no difference in the score.  My resting heart rate is like an athlete, in the 50s.  What's going on?

Hi there, @DBPS455. Thanks for stopping by in the Community Forums and sharing the details about the issue with your cardio fitness score data. I understand where your concern is coming from.

I'd recommend the following tips to improve the accuracy of your cardio fitness score if you haven't already tried them:

  • Make sure your personal account information is correct. Fitbit determines your Cardio Fitness Score based on resting heart rate, age, gender, weight, and other physical information, so you'll want to check our account and make sure those details are accurate.
  • Wear your Versa to sleep. This allows your tracker to calculate a more accurate estimate of your resting heart rate.
  • Go for long runs (at least 10 minutes) on flat terrain.
  • Complete multiple runs to help improve accuracy.
  • If you are able to, run at a faster pace. You don't have to run at a full sprint, but higher intensity runs provide a more accurate estimate.

Additionally, I'd recommend taking a look at these two help articles for better explanation: How do I get more precise estimate of my score? and How do I improve my cardio fitness score?

Hope this helps.

Hello @DBPS455 ,

The reason of different fitness score could be based on the fact that it appears Versa 3 HR sensor measure the heart rate quite differently than other Fitbit devices (althogh experiences are different from users to users, some users say the HR is higher than expected, some others than the real value and it also depends if during a sport session or during normal activity. My wife's Sense, that has the same Versa 3 sensor, during normal activity measures an heart rate very high compared to the real one).

I also had an Inspire 2 (I assume that your Inspire is a version 2 as well since you got it for only 6 months) before giving it to my daughter and moved to Charge 4 and the HR was quite good. My take is that therefore also in your case the Inspire was serving you better.

Hi , I have this same problem.  I had a blaze which finally quit so switched to the Versa 3, my cardio fitness went from excellent to low-average.  I'm 48, average 14K steps a day, do high intensity level workouts pretty much every day for approx. one hour (mix of cardio and weights). Resting heart rate is in the low 50s/high 40s.  All my details are correct in my fitbit profile, I do all the things you suggested (ie. wear my watch religiously to bed, go for long runs, do sprint intervals as well as LISS).  Why did my cardio fitness drop from the mid to high 40s down to 28 over night?

Thanks.
