Versa 3 is tracking my heart rate too high while sleeping

My versa 3 watch is recording very high heartbeats at night when I’m not wearing it.   156 bpm !!!!    ???    Anyone else ever have this happen ?

Hello @TedL1937 and welcome to the Community.  The green LEDs are supposed to turn off when you aren't wearing it.  If they don't turn off, then the light gets reflected back to the sensor and you get this fake heart rate.  Just make sure the LEDs turn off.

If the lights don’t turn off how do I make them turn off ?

@TedL1937   If I set it on its side, I make sure the bands aren’t overlapping.  If the light can travel a short distance and get reflected back, then the lights won’t turn off.  The lights consistently turn off for me when I place it fully flat on a table, screen up.  Things like that.

@TedL1937 Try laying it on both sides. Mine kept flashing resting on one side, but if I put it on the other side, the lights would stop flashing.

Thank you …. I had mine laying on a magazine and it was recording my pulse as 156 …..
