I just upgraded from a Versa to a Versa 3. My Versa seemed to track my sleep properly. My Versa 3 is saying I slept while either I'm awake or not wearing the watch. Last night, I took my watch off around 8:20. I got in bed at 12:20. My sleep tracking says I was asleep during that time, and gave sleep stages during that time. It shows me awake from 11:38-12:29, and I did put it back on around 11:40. Tracking from there seems normal. While I'm not wearing it, a lot of times the sensors (red & green lights) are going crazy for hours.
Why is it doing this? My OG Versa did not. This is very annoying. I've seen other suggestions in the forum:
This should work like my OG Versa: it's smart enough to know I'm not wearing it. If it can't do that, it's a major step backwards. If there isn't a near-term firmware release to fix this, I will return it.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi there, @Justin99Hokie. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the inconvenience with your Versa 3. We‘re taking your comments and sentiments in regards to our products into consideration.
Sometimes your Versa 3 can't detect you have taken it off and if it hasn't moved for about an hour, your Fitbit device records that you’re asleep. For more details, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
I'd recommend turning off your Versa 3 when you take it off to prevent this from happening. For more information, see How do I turn off my Fitbit device?
