Versa 3 is tracking too many floors

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have noticed for the last few days that the floor counter is extremely overstated. I am getting well over 50 floors a day with no flights of stairs in my house. Is this a glitch and if so when can we anticipate a resolution 🤔

My Versa 3 is doing the same thing. I have 175 floors today and maybe actually did 3. It’s been very frustrating. My active minutes are also not counting. I hope there is a fix!

Hi there @d_rovetto @TheMrsFisher08! Thanks for sharing the details about the issue with your Versa 3, I understand how you must be feeling.

Your Fitbit device may give you credit for extra floors for a variety of reasons. Devices may track floors while doing everyday tasks such as opening doors, driving, or riding elevators or escalators, or from abrupt weather and atmospheric pressure changes. Exposure to excess moisture can also result in extra floors. For more information, see: Why does my Fitbit device count extra floors? You can also find more information about tracking activity in this help article: How does my Fitbit device calculate my daily activity?

If you want to remove floors from your account, please follow these steps.

@TheMrsFisher08 As for your AZM, please make sure to check How do I earn Active Zone Minutes?

I appreciate all the information however unfortunately this is more than an extra floor or two. The weather here in middle TN has been a bit " up and down" lately but this is nothing new. The floor count inaccuracies started approximately a  week ago. Here is an example from this morning,  Sunday,  January31:

Screenshot_20210131-092648_Fitbit.jpgI have been awake for about 2 hours on a lazy Sunday morning and I live in a one story house so there is no way I have any floors let alone 12.

Hi! I've had the same issue!  I usually average around 10 floors, and yesterday, it tracked 98 floors. It seems like this glitch just started (for me yesterday) Were you able to resolve this issue?

Hi there @kayparkay, welcome here. Thanks for sharing the details about the issue with your Versa 3.

Before anything else, please try the tips and recommendations I've shared here. Then, try restarting your watch to refresh it internally.

Test your Versa 3 and let me know if the issue persists.

I'm having the same problem. It started on the same day as my phone updated the app with the new update. I've seen a bunch of people on Reddit with the same problem, starting in the last week. There's no way it's caused by environmental factors. I logged 7 flights of stairs while I was in bed this morning. Now I don't feel like I can trust the steps or the calories burned anymore, making it pretty useless.

I've only had this watch for a month and was really happy with it up to this point. I hope this gets fixed soon, or it's going back.

Same issue here. 3rd call to Fitbit. First call I was asked to restart my versa 3, 2nd call I was told the next firmware update will fix the issue. 3rd call I was asked to update the firmware. There was actually one pending this time. If this does not resolve the issue I will be calling them again.

In the last week I have been very "busy'🙄😅😰. 741 floors

Mine is doing the same thing.  The other day it said 97 floors.  I live in flat Florida and was not climbing stairs.  Something is obviously wrong here.  I’ve already gotten 12 floors today sitting at my work desk.

This has been happening to me for months now. Contacted Fitbit and they were useless. Anybody figure out a resolution? I’ve been on my first floor of my house all morning, already logged 12 flights.

This is not a solution. What you have told us is there is no solution  and fitbit will not be fixing this problem.
