Suddenly, my versa three is adding more floors that I’m actually doing to my daily stats. I normally do maybe between 10 to 24 hours and now all of a sudden I’m doing 40 to 60. I’m not sure why it would be and how to.fix it My mobile sinking device is an iPhone 8

Hi there, @Oldraven. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 3 is tracking too many floors. I understand where your concern is coming from. I will do my best to help you with this!

Please note that your Fitbit device may give you credit for extra floors for a variety of reasons. Devices may track floors while doing everyday tasks such as opening doors, driving, or riding elevators or escalators, or from abrupt weather and atmospheric pressure changes. Exposure to excess moisture can also result in extra floors. For more information, see Why does my Fitbit device count extra floors? You can also find more information about tracking your activity in this help article How accurate are Fitbit devices?

Said that, here are some of the possible causes for this inaccuracy:

  • The Versa 3 may track floors while driving, on an elevator or in an escalator.
  • Due to the Versa 3 is a wristband device, it may track floors while opening doors, from a weather change, or from a gust of wind (i.e. pressure changes)

If you want to delete the extra floors, please see How do I delete steps and floors in the Fitbit app?

Thanks very much Maria for your detailed answer. It was very helpful and made a lot of sense. I will use your link to deleting steps. Not much glory in fudging your stats really when you know better.

Thanks once again, Maria
