Ok , I’ve had my Fitbit for 8 months and it’s rubbish ….stair count and heart rate monitoring is pointless …..a piece of tech brought to market before robust r and d had been completed .
so it’s going on e bay and I’m going to buy a real tracker …….

Regarding the floors, I'd like to reinforce that your Fitbit devices may give you credit for extra floors for a variety of reasons. Devices may track floors while doing everyday tasks such as opening doors, driving, or riding elevators or escalators, or from abrupt weather and atmospheric pressure changes. Exposure to excess moisture can also result in extra floors. For more information, see: Why does my Fitbit device count extra floors? If you want to remove floors from your account, please follow these steps.
As for the heart rate, note that you might notice slight variations between your heart-rate reading on your new Fitbit devices compared with your old ones due to improvements in the heart rate sensor and algorithm.
Differences between heart-rate readings on your device and on exercise equipment are likely due to wrist or hand position. Make sure the back of your device is in contact with your wrist and that your band is snug.
Several factors can affect heart rate, including air temperature, stress level, alcohol or caffeine intake, immune response to illness, and medication use (source).
Exercising in cold weather can make it more difficult for your device to track your heart rate, as environmental conditions can affect skin perfusion (the amount of blood that flows through your skin). Spikes in your heart rate during sleep may be caused by sudden movements (for example, waking up and getting out of bed), or a weak signal due to wrist placement.
As with all heart-rate tracking technology, accuracy is affected by personal physiology, device location on your arm, and type of movement. For a more accurate heart-rate reading:
During exercise, wear your device a bit tighter and higher for an improved fit. The band should be snug but not constricting (a tight band restricts blood flow, potentially affecting the heart-rate signal). Many exercises such as bike riding or weight lifting cause you to bend your wrist frequently, which could interfere with the heart-rate signal if the watch is lower on your wrist.

Same for me. Since some weeks my Versa does not count the floors correctly. I have contacted the support by E-mail and they answered me, that the problem with this model ist well known, but unfortunately they are not able to solve the problem.
If the problem is well known by Fitbit, why are they still selling the Versa 3 and why is no hint in "MarreFitbit"´s answer??

I believe that the problem began when the last firmware update was completed ….if that is true then surely they can just return to their previous setup ……
but they don’t seem to care about those of us that are complaining about it .

I am experiencing similar problems. My heart recording is below expectation. Today I had a very significant bicycle ride with climbing for about 1 hour thirty minutes. Fitbit recorded only 12 minutes of significant activity called “fat burn!” I was shocked when I checked it. It recorded NO CARDIO despite the exhaustion and panting for air that I experienced. It has happened a few times before. It has nothing to do with the tightness of the band as mine does not change. I believe the company should check the watch or its software. The Ionic they withdrew from me was in perfect working condition and I never had these issues with it.
Are we using an inferior product??

There are no improvements!! My "old" Ionic was way more accurate than my "advanced " Versa3.
The rest of your story is nonsense, just to cover up the (non)performance of an inferior product. I never had those issues with the Ionic.
