Versa 3 keeps flashing the Fitbit Logo

My fitbit Versa 3 continues to flash the logo on and off, tried resetting it, replaced the charger, nothing is working. Super frustrating as it is less than 6 months old!

Hi there, @Sbreyer. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 3 before reaching out. We‘re taking into consideration your comments and sentiments with regards to our products and services.

In addition to the steps you've done, please try the following ones:

  • Remove your Versa 3 from your Fitbit account and your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Set up your Versa 3 again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa 3.

If you can't get started with your Versa 3, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

Hope this helps.

I've tried all of that, I am unable to restart it, when I press and hold the button it vibrates and just contuines to flash the fitbit logo. It is not a set up issue cause it worked fine for 2 months and then I put it on the charger overnight and put it on in the morning and nothing!

Fitbit support is ridiculous...your help is useless.

Did you ever get your Fitbit Versa 3 working? Mine is doing the same thing. I have only had it 2 months.

Hi @EDLovell  - did you follow the steps in the advice given above?

I have the same issue and it does not let you restart. It is stuck in a loop.

Same issue

I got the same problem after having my Versa 3 watch for 6 months and 15 days. It goes like this:

If you start from the short vibration you feel, then you see black screen for 2 seconds, then you see the fitbit logo for 6 seconds, then it turns black for 6 seconds, then you feel the short vibration again and it continues like this in an infinite loop.... When my watch was still working, I was using the standard clockface, the one that is shown on their package they sell it with.

The suggestions of MarreFitbit are impossible to do because the watch is rebooting and vibrating way too fast. So fast that even a factory reset (10  seconds holding the button) is totally impossible. Also trying connecting your watch to your cellphone with bluetooth will not be possible because of the fast rebooting of your watch. So your phone will try to synchronize with your watch but it will never be possible. It is not a problem with your cellphone, it is with the watch itself. I also noticed when trying to charge the watch on a USB port of my PC, that I heard constantly the sound in Windows of the usb connecting and disconnecting all because of the watch that is constantly rebooting/resetting. With this, I cannot know if the watch is still charging or not. In my opinion, I think it has something to do with a chip that holds the operating system on that watch... It looks like the OS is not booting properly anymore or got corrupted, and that while I wasn't do anything special at all... I was just using my watch... as a watch...with the standard clockface... I wil check what can be done at the store I bought it from, since it was still an expensive watch to buy for me and it was also my first "smart" watch.

Yeah mine started out with the flashing logo as well, and when I try to charge it all it does is show the empty battery once and goes black and never charges! I can’t reset it or try to connect it to Bluetooth or Wi-Fi cause it won’t even charge to sync it to anything and I can’t reset it either since it’s dead! I’m very frustrated that I paid 300 for a watch that lasted just over a year! I also just wear it as a watch and don’t mistreat it! It was my first smartwatch ever as well! Very disappointed

Hi @SunsetRunner  - did you check the link posted earlier to fix the charging issue?

Once that's resolved, and watch charged for an hour, try holding the button for at least 10 seconds, or at least 30..

If neither help try chat via the Fitbit app, click profile photo, Help & support, Contact Customer support.

EDIT: In a truly shocking plot twist, support walked me through a factory reset and my Fitbit is now functioning again! I’ll leave the rest of this post for anyone who has the same issues. Contact support chat through the Fitbit app, they were awesome!

I also have my Versa 3 stuck in this loop of the Fitbit logo and attempting to reboot (yes, mods, I have done all possible troubleshooting). My watch was great, synched, fully charged, and literally in the middle of a layover, I saw that it started showing the Fitbit logo. I attempted a hard reset multiple times with no luck.

There is no way to connect it to my phone because it is stuck in this reboot cycle. I tried let the battery run out by leaving it off and in my bag for the duration of my 9-day trip, hoping total battery drainage would help. No luck there either.

I have absolutely no idea what happened and haven’t had a problem with this watch in the two years I owned it. If this was the result of a Fitbit software update, I don’t see how recovery of the device is possible, given lack of connectivity.

I have little hope of this getting fixed (again mods, yes, I did as much of the prescribed troubleshooting as possible given the state of the device) but wanted to at least document the issue. This is very disappointing and probably the last Fitbit I’ll own.

I'm having the same issues, and this Versa 3 is about 4 months old. Is there a step on how to reset a flashing fitbit anywhere?

Best Answer

This is also happening with mine. I got it less than 3 months ago…

I went to live chat, and they sent me a new one. We tried to get it to work, but it didn't.

Yah mine is doing the same thing, but it's loop is every 4 seconds. Has anyone figured out how to fix it?

I will probably look for a different brand that actually stands behind their products.
