Versa 3 not tracking sleep and exercises consistenly

My BRAND NEW replacement (two weeks old) Versa 3 is NOT recording sleep and exercise sessions consistently.  Sometimes yes, sometimes no.   Had my prev Versa 3 for 2 yrs 2 mos.    All updates on new device, app and phone are current.  Uninstalled/reinstalled, full resets, etc multiple times.  Same phone, Android 13.   I tried Fitbit forums, Google, Reddit forums.   Never had any problems with old one until battery died.  Seems to be ALOT of issues in general with Fitbit devices.  I guess I let my prior good experience influence me.   I think I am going to have to get a new brand.   I am out of options and patience.

Hi there, @Gp03. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 3 before reaching out. I understand how you must be feeling.

Regarding your sleep data, I recommend considering the following in order to get sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

For more information, see What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages?

As for the exercises, I was wondering how you track them? Do you use SmartTrack or you use the Exercise app on your Versa 3? Which activities won't be tracked?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

I have had the same issue for the last two days. I have been unable to see my sleep scores. Some of the health metrics are showing up..but not all and my wife is having the same issue and we both have Sense's. I started having my issue around 1am PST on Monday....it said I had only slept an hour.

I hope they respond soon...it is very disappointing to not be able to get the SPO2, breathing rate, and the other health metrics. It is like something broke around 1am PST yesterday. My sleep is not being logged either....

I'm a long-time FitBit user. Recently upgraded from Versa 2 to Versa 3. I am _very_ disappointed in this product: glitchy, buggy, add your adjective. Periodically won't sync at all and requires a complete restart. Latest is it stopped recording my sleep. This is a new one. I haven't changed _anything_.

I have tried _every_ fix recommendation. None worked.

Amazon return expired a few days go otherwise I would return it.

I've had my Versa 3 for 2y and never had a problem until Mon night (2/3) around 1am also - says i only slept 1hr and last night it suggests 2hrs. Some health metrics and usual step tracking, etc are working fine. Support just told me there is a global issue and they are working on it.

Thanks for the reply, but this isnt helpful.  I think you missed the part where I have 2+ years experience with fitbit & versa 3.    Of course I have seen the basic script.   Someone else responded it may be a known issue.  Hope it is resolved soon.

Thanks for the update. As long as they are aware of the situation and try
to fix it-we can have some hope.

Very annoying! Lately not a good product!

I had the same issue, was only tracking 34 minutes of sleep, no issues previously.  Had to remove app, logged on dash. Restart watch etc.. eventually started working again. Auto exercise is on an off, will not work if walking with sticks, gps will not track. Really preferred my ionic.
