Versa 3 poor build quality - 2nd time face falls off

Hi,

There is clearly an issue with the Fitbit build quality.

I bought a Versa 3 in July 9, 2021. On February 8, 2022 the face simply lifted off. Since it was still under the 1 year warranty I contacted Fitbit and had it replaced. The replacement shipped to me February 10, 2022.

Today is February 14, 2023 (1 year and 4 days on) and the face of the replacement just lifted off (like it was programmed to).

Search the community threads and you will see that this is a long running and known build quality issue that Fitbit is either unable or unwilling to resolve. Or maybe even designed in.

Very, very, very poor.

I've had 5 Fitbits, the previous 4 were absolutely appalling for build quality. The Versa 3 is the first one since 2016 that I think it's actually quite solid.

I dumped the factory-supplied strap immediately; the screen edges are too exposed and pressure cracks are too common in all walks of everyday life (phones, tablets, watches, etc have the same risk).

I got this Spigen 1-piece case instead years ago https://www.amazon.co.uk/Spigen-Rugged-Armor-Designed-Fitbit-Black/dp/B08H6X9RHW , it's still like new, comfortable and it's unbelievably tough/rugged. It also looks great and gives the watch a different look which always has people asking asking what watch I'm wearing. when in reality it's a crappy Versa 3. The Versa 3 pebble is secured via the back of the strap; push it into the case and it'll never fall out. Oh, and the edges of the screen are well protected - the face has ZERO chance of falling off.

I know it's not ideal to buy a nice watch and cover it up with something a fraction of the price, but it's well worth it. You don't lose out on any of the touch / haptic functionality either. I'm pretty sure if I didn't have this case on, it would have fallen apart a while back 😂

Hope this helps anyway

Same problem with mine.

It is unacceptable that this Versa 3 lasted a little over a year. It figures that it was just past the 1 year warranty.
