When I get any kind of message my Versa 3 has just started showing a black screen where the message notification used to be. I have tried resetting the watch a few times

HI @mattsmith45 - if you can pull down on the watch face to get to notifications and scroll all the way to the top and tap on CLEAR ALL. The restart the watch and sync. Then see if notifications appear. If not the watch made need to be factory reset which isn't without risk.

Once started, wait 5 minutes and if successful set it up again. With the new V4 Fitbit App there have been cases where it is not possible to set it up again.

It is a good idea to make a note of the names of any clocks or apps and any special watch or app settings you use before the reset and always sync first to not lose data.

Hi there, @mattsmith45. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for taking the time to try fixing the issue with your Versa 3 and the notifications no longer showing up before reaching out. We're here to help!

I agree with the first thing that @Guy_, I'd suggest trying this before considering a factory reset as this step is our last resort. If that doesn't help, please make sure you've restarted your Fitbit device as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device?. If the restart doesn't work try to change your clock face. If this fixes the issue, you can change your clock face back to the original clock face.

I also recommend trying to set up your notifications again by following the steps below:

  1. Tell your phone to "forget" the bluetooth connection to your Fitbit device:
    1. On your phone, tap Settings Bluetooth.
    2. Tap the information icon or gear icon next to the name of your Fitbit device.
    3. Find the option to forget the device.
  2. Open the Fitbit app and set up notifications again, then sync your Fitbit device.
