Versa 3 showing a different amount of steps than the Fitbit app

My Versa 3 shows 8740 steps and the app shows 11333 steps.  I have rebooted watch.  I also have reinstalled app and synched it 3 times.  The numbers are still the same as above.  The calories burned are different by 7.  What should I try?

Hi there @ShellyZR! Welcome to the Fitbit Community!

Thank you so much for informing us about the steps not matching between your Versa 3 and the Fitbit app and for your efforts.

Can you please check if you have "MobileTrack" activated?

MobileTrack is a Fitbit feature that uses your phone's sensors to count steps when you don't have your Fitbit with you.

It's possible that the steps recorded on your phone overwrite those on your Versa 3.

Here's how to turn this feature off:

  • In the Fitbit app, tap the device icon (top left).
  • There you'll see the devices paired with your account.
  • If you see the "MobileTrack" option, tap it and remove it from the account.
