I got full data the first 3 nights of owning the Versa 3 but now I don’t get the score but only get the time to fall asleep- light light etc stats. How do I get back to getting the score and amount of time in REM etc. THANK YOU!!

Hi there, @Vsims@MHoln, and @Amandathomson. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for sharing the details about the issue with your Versa 3 smartwatches.

Keep in mind that you must see sleep stages in order to see your sleep score information. Please swipe left on the Sleep Score graph, here you can see information about your weekly sleep average and sleep duration. To get more detailed information, see What's sleep score in the Fitbit app?

With that said, I recommend considering the following in order to get sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

Thank you for this ... so I should not use the ‘begin sleep now’ on my phone the fitbit app? I should just simply go to sleep w my versa on to get my sleep score?
Thank you 🙂

@Amandathomson You're right! 🙂

Fitbit estimates your sleep stages using a combination of your movement and heart-rate patterns. When you haven’t moved for about an hour, your tracker or watch assumes that you’re asleep. Additional data—such as the length of time your movements are indicative of sleep behavior (such as rolling over, etc.)—help confirm that you’re asleep. While you’re sleeping, your device tracks the beat-to-beat changes in your heart rate, known as heart rate variability (HRV), which fluctuate as you transition between light sleep, deep sleep, and REM sleep stages. When you sync your device in the morning, we use your movement and heart rate patterns to estimate your sleep cycles from the previous night. For more information, see What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages?

Tracking Sleep is very hit and miss with my Versa 3 and this has never been an issue until about a Month ago, to the point that it shows I haven't slept at all and I know that simply isn't the case.

Why has this changed so dramatically and quickly?

I bought a new Versa 3 a week ago and I have had NO SLEEP DATA
