Versa 3 stopped working after getting wet

Hi, on holiday atm swimming in 30 degrees of heat and my versa 3 is now not working, I can visibly see water drops within the back, is it a condensation issue or water ingress. This is the second watch to give up , probably be my last fitbit tbh , had them since 2016 but expensive to keep on replacing every 2 years because  of faults. I've tried reset etc, all I have is the titbit logo on face, really dissatisfied.

Hi @shropslad - if you can see condensation your watch probably has got water in it. Depending on how much damage is done it may not recover.

If it gets hot when charging stop immediately and if the battery drains fast, the damage is extensive.

The seals on some watches are not so robust and can deteriorate over time depending on exposure and use, some quicker than others.

Hi there, @shropslad. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 3 is still unresponsive. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

If your device got wet, it’s important to take it off and dry it well before putting it back on. On the other hand, if your device has come into contact with any liquid other than fresh water, you should clean it with fresh water and a soap-free cleanser and dry it with a lint free-cloth. I'd also follow @Heather-S's tips and recommendations.

If you've done the above but to no avail, please try restarting your Versa 3. For instructions, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?

If the restart doesn't work either and your watch hasn't vibrated for the restart process, I'd recommend trying the steps below:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  • Restart your Fitbit once again.

@Guy_ Thanks for your input!
