Bought the Versa 3 for my son and he loved it but it stopped working after 6 months - he wore it in the water but it is water-resistant up to 50 meters and he was just splashing around at the beach. How do I follow up and will it be covered under warrantee? I have had others die after years of use but this is really disappointing.

Hi there, @LHDow. Welcome to the Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear about your son's Versa 3. We‘re taking into consideration your comments and sentiments in regards to our products and services.
If the Fitbit device gets wet, it’s important to take it off and dry it well before putting it back on. On the other hand, if the device has come into contact with any liquid other than fresh water, you should clean it with fresh water and a soap-free cleanser and dry it with a lint free-cloth.
If you both have done the above but to no avail, please try restarting the Versa 3. For instructions, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
If the restart doesn't work either and the watch hasn't vibrated for the restart process, I'd recommend trying the steps below:

My understanding is that the Versa 3 can be used while swimming. However, if I try to use mine in the pool it starts the timer after I press swim in exercise but then locks-complete with padlock icon on exercise screen. The only way I’ve found to stop the exercise timer and use the other functions on the watch.is to reset. This is not convenient. Any suggestions?

I just saw your question while searching for other things and suspect that you might have found the answer since it has been a year, but I have found that double pressing the haptic button on the left side unlocks the Fitbit after swimming.
