Versa 3 swim app won't show real-time laps

I was gifted an upgraded versa for Christmas. I loved my previous one because I could track the swimming laps (always lose count) but the Versa 3 only shows time whilst swimming. That’s no use, there’s always a clock in most swimming locations, but no one to count your laps? Will this be updated, it would be a shame to have to return.

Please note that heart-rate tracking is disabled during your swim workout.
