My versa 3 stopped taking a charge yesterday. I’ve done all the basics like cleaning and restarting. My question at this point is regarding the 4 prong charger. I used a multimeter to test the voltage coming from the prongs. The two prongs opposite the cable display 10.3 V, but the two prongs directly adjacent to the cable don’t read anything. Should those prongs be transmitting voltage? Since I don’t have another charging cable to test with, I am trying to determine if the cable I have is bad.

Hi @Bad_Karma - charge cables often become faulty, it is more likely that one of the pins is sunk in which stops it making contact with the watch even if there is a voltage.
See How to check charge cable - Sense/Versa 3 won't charge, won't start or blank screen

The pins appear fine. None are recessed and all springs easily push the pins out. Based on the link you provided it appears the chargers are not all that high of quality. I don’t know what the other two lower pins are, I think one is a ground, but perhaps one of them is faulty inside the charger. Guessing I should just get another.

A new pair of chargers was ordered from Amazon. The multimeter test yields the same result of 10.3v across the top pins and nothing across the bottom. Also like the old charger, the new ones are not charging the device so it would seem the device is bad.

@Bad_Karma- there may be an issue with your power source [10.3v seems to be incorrect and your watch will probably refuse to charge] - try using a PC to charge the watch.

You were right about the voltage, I had it set to AC rather than DC. Everything I plug it into is just over 5v. USB receptacle, iPad charger plugged into a receptacle, straight into my PC, nothing gets through 😒

@Bad_Karma - it seems the watch may be faulty, did it get wet by any chance?
If the display is not working it may actually be charging.
After fully cleaning as described earlier and placing on the charger for an hour on 2 differnt charge cables try the following.
Press and hold the button for a few seconds and see if it starts or vibrates very briefly.
Sync with the Fitbit App and see if it does and if the battery level updates.
Lastly if no reaction press and hold the button for at least 10 seconds and see if any change.

The display is working, when I press and hold the side button the 0% battery indicator briefly flashes. With either cord attached, there is no sign at all that it is taking a charge. Two different charges with 3 different charging methods. It was purchased in 12/2020 so long out of warranty. Do not swim, shower, bathe or splash in muddy puddles so not really a chance it got wet. Live chat wasn’t able to help so they are sending me to the warranty department who will email me to tell me that I have no warranty options I am assuming.
thanks for trying 👍🏻

@Bad_Karma - thanks for trying, sorry it's not fixable. I had this happen to one of my watches following a factory reset which failed due to a firmware bug and became useless.
If it gets a little charge you may not get the 0% but that's the only change you may observe.
Look out fo black Friday sales.

If your battery stopped charging, try the solutions below. The pins on the device or charging cable are dirty. Dust and debris can accumulate over time. Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device
