tried cleaning it amd making sure there is no dirt/ dust on it but it has always been pot luck if it connects to charge.

even with a brand new fitbit charger still lucky to get it to connect.

any suggestions? anyone else have trouble with it or is it just me!?

Hi there, @nick1973. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 3 is not connecting properly to the charging cable. I appreciate you taking the time to troubleshoot this issue before posting here. I understand where your concern is coming from, I will do my best to help you with this.

To better assist you, may I know if you cleaned both, your Versa 3 and charging cable? Dust and debris can accumulate over time. Please confirm that you cleaned the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?

Additionally, please find below some tips to best charge Fitbit devices:

  • Use only genuine Fitbit charging cables
  • Use only UL-certified wall chargers
  • Avoid USB battery packs
  • Charge at room temperature

For charging purposes, your charging cable or your base station can be plugged into any USB power source, including but not limited to:

  • A computer
  • A Wall A/C to USB adapter, commonly found with smartphones
  • A DC to USB adapter (vehicle power port)
