Versa 3 won't connect to Alexa

As far as I know Alexa is enabled, the battery settings are set to unrestricted and it looks to be running in the background but I still can't use the side button to connect to Alexa. It says sync device and Fitbit mobile app. Which I did and then let app run in background to use Alexa I don't know what else to do
