Versa 3 won't pair after a factory reset

Dear Fitbit team,

I am writing to you regarding a problem I have with my Fitbit Versa 3.

On January 23, 2025, I found that the watch stopped working properly with the Fitbit app on my iPhone 15 Pro (iOS latest version), but before that there were no complaints about the operation of both devices. When I decided to go to the app, I noticed that the synchronization had stopped on January 20, 2025, and started working on solving it. The next day, I tried to reconnect the device, but every synchronization attempt failed. To troubleshoot the issue, I updated the Fitbit app via the App Store, but this did not solve the problem.

Subsequently, I followed a series of steps recommended on various websites:
- uninstalled and reinstalled the Fitbit app;
- turned off and turned on Bluetooth again;
- forced closing the program, restarting the phone and the device itself.

None of these methods worked. In the end, I decided to perform a full factory reset of the watch. However, now I can't connect it to my phone: after entering the code from the watch, the application displays the message "Something went wrong" and the connection process stops. As of now, the device is completely inoperable, and I don't know how to solve this problem on my own.

I would be grateful if you could tell me how to resolve this situation. The watch is already 1 year and 3 months old and I want to continue using it.

Thank you in advance for your support and look forward to your reply.

Hi there, @Monikakotik. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 3 is not pairing nor syncing anymore. I understand your concern, I will do my best to help you with this!

Please note that the difficulty you are having to set up your Versa 3 usually happens when you perform a factory reset without first unpairing the watch. In order to solve this issue, I'd recommend trying the steps below:

  • Remove your Versa 3 from your Fitbit account and unpair it from your phone's Bluetooth.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Setup your Versa 3 again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Versa 3.

If you can't get started with your Versa 3, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

Hi there, I have also had syncing issues with my Versa 3. I followed the steps above but was then not able to connect the Fitbit via Bluetooth. Bluetooth was asking for a 4 digit code from the Fitbit but the Fitbit screen was saying "Unlock with phone". I'm now stuck between two issues that I can't see how to resolve. Have you seen this before?

Many thanks
