Hi, my watch got wet and turned off due to low battery. When I came home I charged it over night but it will still not turn on. It is only about 2 years old. What is the solution?

Thanks 🙂

Hi there, @Mic2590. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with your Versa 3.

If your device got wet, it’s important to take it off and dry it well before putting it back on. On the other hand, if your device has come into contact with any liquid other than fresh water, you should clean it with fresh water and a soap-free cleanser and dry it with a lint free-cloth.

If you've done the above but to no avail, please try restarting your Versa 3. For instructions, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?

If the restart doesn't work either and your watch hasn't vibrated for the restart process, I'd recommend trying the steps below:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  • Restart your Fitbit once again.

Hi @Mic2590 - if the watch got water in it it may no longer work. But things to try

It may need cleaning or the charge cable may be faulty - see how in How to check charge cable - Sense/Versa 3 won't charge, won't start or blank screen

If that doesn't fix it try putting it in a bag of rice for some days to dry before charging, especially if it gets hot when on the charger as there is a risk of fire or explosion if there is a short circuit inside.

Your watch won't be 2 years old yet, so may still be under warranty, 1 to 2 years depending on country law. If it is still under warranty take it back to where you bought for replacement with a new one.

You can always chat via the Fitbit App, click profile photo, Help & Support, Contact Customer Support, they may be able to help. If they can replace it you may only get a refurbished one.
