Hi @ChrissyM2000 - normally it doesn't stay connected to WiFi, so you are not doing anything wrong.
It uses Bluetooth for syncing and notifications and only rarely uses WiFi for special activities like installing a new firmware and for that it uses the 2.4gHz WiFi band only.
Bluetooth uses far less energy than WiFi so that is why it is not used much, to make the battery last longer.

Hi there, @ChrissyM2000. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about the issue with the Wi-Fi.
Please keep in mind the information shared by @Guy_. As the Wi-Fi connectivity works to download playlists and apps from the Fitbit Gallery, and for faster firmware updates.
Nevertheless, I'd recommend taking a look at this help article Why won't my Fitbit watch connected to Wi-Fi?
On the other hand, if you're having syncing difficulties, see Why won't my Fitbit device sync?
Hope that helps.
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

The only time your Versa 3 trys to connect to WiFi, on its own, is while the Versa 3 is being charged.

@Rich_Laue - it tries to connect to WiFi when loading firmware too during setup.
