Versa 3 won't stay connected to my phone's Bluetooth

It's really annoying.

This is the second versa i have. Te previous one was so bad i had to reinstall everything weekly.

This one seemed to work fine in the beginning. But now the problem keeps getting worse.

So no I have to reboot the watch and turn BT off and onn to connect me watch on a daily basis. Sometimes even more. It started with just once a week.

Now I do know how to reconnect, so I don't need tips for that. I want to know how to prevent this from happening. It's really annoying to need to start my day with this every day.

Yes I checked my other BT connections. I actually removed almost all devices allrhough there are no devices connected at all times like my versa3 should.

There's just one BT speaker that is not actually connected because the speaker is off. Still in my devices. It would be strange to reconnected all bt devises everytime just to have a functional fitbit. But there are no other active connections.

I have not a Ford. So no apps for that.

Please how can i prevent this from happening?

Yes i have the latest Android version but i have this problem with the previous versions too.

I have a Samsung galaxy phone (xcover enterprise)

Everything is up to date.

Hi there, @SunsetRunner. It's nice to see you around the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa 3 is still disconnecting from your phone's Bluetooth. I understand where your concern is coming from, I will do my best to help you with this!

Before considering other options,
please try the steps below in the order listed (even if some of them you've tried already):

  • Unpair your Fitbit device from your phone's Bluetooth and Fitbit app.
  • Unpair other Bluetooth devices that you may also have paired to your phone's Bluetooth settings.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off other Bluetooth connections when not in use. This can help to prevent connectivity issues or Bluetooth interference.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth on your phone.
  • Plug it into the charging cable and open the Fitbit app.
  • Set up your Fitbit device.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Fitbit device.
  • Once your Fitbit device is paired and syncing, please proceed to set up your other Bluetooth devices to your phone again.

With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Versa 3 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.

Thank you for explaining why!

I will do this. Most of the time after reconnecting the problem seems to have gone, but it comes back later. So I will keep an eye to this in if the problem comes back I'll let you know. But if it stays away I will also mention this in a few months so other people can learn from this one too.

I want to keep this updated because problem excists over time.

So at this day it's been for the first time the BT connection failed between my phone and watch. As always I restarted phone and it was back. I still have not added any other BT devices to really see if without any it will stay.

Keep you posted

I added my BT speaker in the week from 8 may.

At that moment I already got disconnected, but thought wel 1 time is not a trend.
It seemed fine.

The BT speaker is mostly off and still is now.
But this week I already got disconnected 3 times!! and had to restart my fitbit to make the connection again. So as stated before at first it is fine but the longer time goes on it gets worse... although I did add a BT device... I don't think it should be normal that I can't add ANY bt device te prevent this from happening and getting worse until a daily restart is needed. What is this?

I will remove the BT device to check if it will work curious if it happends because of the BT device of just because over time this problem will come back

Can I ask you which device are you connecting? Versa 3 or Versa 3 Controls? After following the instructions above, I'm able to connect only Versa 3 Controls and the app does not sync with the watch.

OK, I guess BT Versa3 is for sync, and Versa3 Controls is for answering from the watch.

It's working fine now, I unpaired all other BT devices, and firstly I paired Versa3 and then Versa3 Controls.

Hope this helps.
