Versa 3 won't track my sleep data accurately

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

This morning, I found most sleep stage info on my Versa 3 reduced to nothing useful;  the Estimated Oxygen Variation chart is gone as well as Sleep Stages. Both have been there since purchase, and I've never signed up for even the trial of Premium.  The sleep analysis is important to me.  The sleep hours have been often incorrect recently as well.

Is this part of an update?  Anyone else note changes?

Removing features from a premium device doesn't build customer satisfaction or loyalty.

I too have noticed this. I have had no useful sleep tracking recorded at all for the last week. It only ever seems to log between 1 and 1.5 hours and constantly assumes that it is between 5 and 7 in the morning which is very weird. It had been mostly working fine before this week. I have even changed my sleep settings from 'Normal' to 'Sensitive' and it makes no difference. Annoyingly without the sleep tracking working it makes the subscription items such as 'Readiness' score not function either. I too am wondering if this a result of updates?

Hi there, @JanGMc @ReggieMac. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 3 before reaching out. We‘re taking your comments and sentiments in regards to our products into consideration.

As a first approached, I'd recommend to sync your Versa 3 to the app after waking up. This will help to make sure that all your data is sync properly.

Also, note that your time asleep is calculated by subtracting your time spent awake and restless from your overall tracked sleep time. For example, if you slept 8 hours but woke up 2 times for 15 minutes each, your time asleep would be 7 hr 30 min. Edit or delete sleep logs in the Fitbit app. For instructions, see How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities?

To learn more about your time asleep in sleep stages, see What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages?

Nevertheless, I recommend considering the following in order to get sleep stages:

  • If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  • If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  • If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  • If your device’s battery is critically low.

Hope this helps.

Happily, my issues resolved themselves last night, and all is in place as it should be. I'm now wondering, like you, if this is because of updates.
Now, if I could get it to present Weather in Fahrenheit instead of Centigrade!

Hope your problems resolve quickly as well!

I have tried all of the suggested solutions that I could find, I have tried it on both wrists both back and front of the wrist. The most it ever seems to record now is approx 1.5 hours. Either I am surviving on less than 2 hours sleep per night or something has changed with how this data is recorded and so is no longer doing the job as advertised. As I said it makes having a paid subscription pointless, which I am now going to cancel, because things like readiness score rely on sleep measurements, not very happy at the moment.
