Hi there @Granma06, welcome to the Fitbit Community.
If you haven't done so yet, please try doing a restart for your device. I believe that you have one of the Versa Family, so it would be as easier as pressing and holding the left button for 10 seconds. If that is not the case, please take a look at this article: How do I restart my Fitbit device?

I had this exact same problem and had r
to disconnect and reconnect my device - it now won’t connect to my phone messages despite the notification being switched on ☹️

@Granma06 @DD001 You need to disengage the water lock to end a swim session. You press the button twice -- not to fast and not too slow. There's a real sweet spot in the timing that takes trial and error. It takes me 3-4 tries to get it right. Once you disengage the water lock you can end your swim like any other exercise.
