Versa 3 won't work unless it's connected to the charger

This has been happening for 3 weeks now.  The watch is fully charged.  It shows black screen. Tried to reboot multiple times.  It then turns on for a second and the black screen.  Then i put it back on charger and it reboots and the clock shows.

Not sure what the issue is but I am so disappointed as I use it every day.    Had it since December 2020

Frustrating that for an expensive watch the life span is so short.

Hi there, @shaminipeter. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Versa 3 before reaching out. We‘re taking your comments and sentiments in regards to our products into consideration.

To better assist you, please make sure you've restarted your Fitbit device as suggested here How do I restart my Fitbit device?. If the restart doesn't work try to change your clock face. If this fixes the issue, you can change your clock face back to the original clock face.

If the above doesn't work and your Fitbit device doesn't vibrate while performing the restart, please try the steps below:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  • Restart your Fitbit once again. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?

Hope that helps.

Yes all this has been tried.  It only seems to work when it is being charged on the cable.  Once I remove it goes black screen and does not work
