Versa Battery Appears Dead, but Is 100% Charged on Charger

My versa shut off at 88% battery, and it would not turn back on.  I plugged it into the charger, where it confirmed 88% battery and then a screen flashed saying it had 0% battery (This screen then disappeared and my normal clock face screen appeared with my battery at 88%). 

 

I restarted it twice, and did a factory reset but every time I take it off of the charger immediately dies.  I've had this versa for just 5 months now.  Help!!

 

I watched the battery climb from 88% to 100% on the charger and have never had battery issues prior to today.

@Laura4_ Try wiping the charging port with some alcohol and plugging to USB port of your computer for several hours. It doesn't bode well though. If this fails, you might have to reach out to Customer Support to guide you through the next steps. It might be a hardware issue.

Thanks for the help. I contacted customer support and they sent me a new one. Hopefully I'm all set.

How did you manage to get them to help you? I have the exact same problem, but have been mailing back and forth for 14 days without getting any help what so ever...
