I just received my Versa and love it! But after wearing it less than 5 full days I see a crack in the left upper corner. I’ve contacted Fitbit and the reply was the screen isn’t covered under warranty. IT’S BRAND NEW! I did not do anything different with this then I’ve ever done with my Alta HR or Blaze...just normal wear. I’m so disappointed Fitbit isn’t standing by their product! I was going between this and the Apple Watch, but have loved my Fitbits. I’m so upset I’m thinking of jumping off the Fitbit ship.

I don't understand one thing here. Why would a consumer buy extra accessories to protect a $199 worth gadget? Does it mean this product can't even take a small vibration/shock? Sorry to say this because I am frustrated and the company should understand work on Customer's feeling. I am not throwing this watch from first floor but for this money worth it should handle the minimum impact which Fitbit Versa quality is worthless.

Right? I feel like they just want their hands to be clean. Instead of addressing the real issue. I didn't ask them to replace anything, all i wanted was a solution on how to get it fixed even if I had to pay for it!

Exactly. Usually, I don't like blaming game and fitbit is not an exception to this 🙂
I almost gave up on fitbit products. I like Garmin trackers but it's little big for my wrist otherwise Garmin is really good.

I can a new Apple Watch, my versa also scratched after only two days and not an impact scratch just a surface scratch. My husband had his Apple Watch scratch also just a surface scratch and they replaced it. Company’s should stand by there products.

@KeriH13 screens are not covered under Apple warranty either. Apple will replace the watch only if you have purchased their insurance.
@nganesh0402, most people put screen protectors on their phones, and many use protective cases. Others like the clean look of none. Nothing unusual about it. I have a soft screen protector on my Versa, same for my phone and tablets. 9 months of wearing all day, during gardening, yard work, house repair, etc and zero damage to the watch

I agree, people install protective case and guard for screens, but you need to look at my statement "This is a fitness tracker" So the company knows the real purpose of it.
Consumers may use it in any condition it can be a water sport, motorsport or any kind of rugged or casual activity. I wouldn't have questioned if the product's price is within $40 but this is a $199 worth of product so technically consumer shouldn't add extra protection. And again this is my point of view.
Thanks

Yes they do if the screen is scratched not an impact damage. They replaced my husbands but I was silly and went with the fit bit versa instead of the Apple Watch.
Does fit bit even make a screen protector? They should be letting people know they need screen protectors and sell them if the watches need them.

RE: Read the Warranty
I should have done that before I bought the watch, but who would have guessed that a watch face would crack for no reason within a couple weeks of purchase??? Not a typical first thought. However, had I read the warranty and it said cracked screen not covered under warranty that should have been a red flag. Yup I get it... it's the customers fault for not reading what they were buying. SMH.
Thank you for the feedback ..but seeing the issues here wouldn't it be better to supply the screen protector with the watch since it appears to be a necessity. In fact just install them before shipping

I would like to add my own story regarding how surprised and disappointed I am with this device. I received my Fitbit Versa as a Christmas gift in December. Despite a longstanding skepticism around the smart watches... I started wearing it about 3 weeks ago. About an hour ago I was walking through my kitchen and bumped my wrist against the counter: the screen on my Fitbit cracked. I contacted the supported line and was shocked to learn there is no repair or glass replacement option! Fitbit's answer was to offer me a 25% discount to purchase another device. I accept full responsibility for the damage but as I have learned today after reading this thread, "shame on me for not doing my homework". Had I known how fragile and unsupported these watches I would never have put it on. For a "fitness watch for active people... at $200+ I find it unconscionable that Fitbit isn't building these watches to be more durable and/or repairable. Guess I will be going back to my "long-suffering" but durable and reliable wrist watches. They might not be "smart" but they can handle the real world I live in. Needless to say I will not be buying another Fitbit in the anytime in the foreseeable future AND unless / until the company changes their support policy and/or dramatically improves the durability of their products. VERY disappointing...

@Alexandera24 @Kiatsu @KeriH13 I'm sorry to hear that your Versa trackers developed some scratches on the screen. Due to this, I'll forward your case to our Support team so they can investigate further and provide a solution. You will receive an email from them soon.
@clhawkins63 @Donnamcg @Sayars1010 @nganesh0402 @all2sweet @Blooze I'm sorry about the experience you had with your Fitbit product. I totally understand how you feel. Your feedback is greatly appreciated since this helps us to keep improving.
@LongIslandSailr Thank you so much for sharing your feedback also!

This thread almost deterred me from trying a Versa. At $140 I figured why not.. 2 Months now no cracks or scratches on mine.

Mark, welcome to fitbit family.
Just to be clear on this thread context "No one is demotivating people not to buy a quality product". It is just the voice raised by the people who are not satisfied with the product quality for the money we paid for. I will take it personally and say if a smartwatch dropped from 2 to 5ft distance and breaks I would say the build quality is bad. And if you read the forum carefully we never said DO NOT BUY this product, we are asking justification on the product build(quality) and the guarantee they have for this.
Hope you will enjoy your Versa and keep adding steps.
P.S: Only crying child gets MILK 🙂
Cheers !!!

Agreed. Empathy without a solution is just lip service.
