I've had THREE fitbits now, and each time the sensor fails after 18 months. Conveniently just outside of the warranty. Each time I did all the fixes and factory resets numerous times, none of which helped. THE SENSORS ARE BUILT TO FAIL JUST AFTER THE NEW WATCH COMES OUT! So when you go through all the troubleshooting with fitbit, again, and you're just outside of the warranty, they offer you 20% on the newest model. What a SCAM!! It's a shame because I do love the watch and the app, just not the greedy, money hungry execs at Fitbit who make things that purposely break. I get that companies need to make money, but this is ridiculous. I've never had an electronic product fail as much as Fitbit has. I will never buy or recommend their products, and I will discourage anyone I know from buying one.

Our products are indeed designed and made to last (this goes for each product component) however, there is not an infallible way to ensure that no issues will be present in the long run. Because of this, our Warranty Policy is set into providing as much coverage as we can.
Thanks for your question about why we offered a discount towards a new Fitbit product instead of a replacement of your existing Fitbit product. Our limited warranty provides repair or replacement of products that have a defect while still in the warranty period. Your device is out of the warranty period, and therefore is not eligible for repair or replacement, but we want to offer you a discount to thank you for your loyalty to Fitbit.

you have GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!! This is the 3rd device that has had the SAME ISSUE and fails just outside of the warranty period and you have the AUDACITY TO OFFER ME A DISCOUNT ON A NEW DEVICE????? Why exactly would I buy yet another one when I know this one too will fail in 18 months???? How about making a product that lasts? I have never in my life had a less dependable electronic device than a Fitbit. I will NEVER purchase another Fitbit, and as of today will be posting on every social media platform I can find to discourage others from making the same mistake I did by buying a Fitbit. Your company is a complete SCAM
