After spending an hour with Customer Support troubleshooting (device not syncing and stair count is way off), they told me to do a factory reset. The Versa is asking me to download the Fitbit app which is already on my phone. I can't do anything with the phone...keeps scrolling through different languages. This device is a huge disappointment!

I think I may have accidentally done a factory reset instead of a restart and now I can’t use my Fitbit versa light. In going through the troubleshooting questions one of the answers was I should hold all three buttons down on the device. Well my Fitbit versa light only has one button on it so I don’t know what they’re talking about. Can anybody help. I still have the app on my phone but I can’t get the VersaLight to work

Unfortunately the factory reset doesn't work on my Versa 2 either and I am totally disappointed! It wasn't syncing and so I thought the factory reset would solve the issue. Now I have nothing!

After the last update before the last one, my screen went blank and I can't do nothing with this watch. How can I do a hard reset? Is there a way to do it with the computer? If I can't fix this, I will never buy another tracking watch. Wasted money for something that did not work for a year.
It is a fitbit versa, bought it in July 2019.

I think most everyone for whom the factory reset hasn't worked, simply released the button too late. You need to let the lower button go at EXACTLY the same time the logo disappears.
For almost 2 years, I ran my versa on the original firmware because it wouldn't update, and I couldn't get the hard reset to work. Then, the screen froze with the "unlock with your phone" message.
I had this error for months, unable to reset, but I continued to wear it because it still tracked my measurements and I couldn't bring myself to toss a working device in the trash. One day, (while configuring my Galaxy Active 2, because I wasn't going to buy another Fitbit just because Fitbit wasn't supporting their product) I decided to try again, and got the same results. Then, thinking I may have let the button go too early or too late in the past, I tried several times, and counted how long the logo stayed on screen.
When I released the lower right button EXACTLY at the same time as the logo disappeared, it worked. If you're having trouble getting the hard reset to engage, you may want to go through the steps and count how long the logo stays on the screen before disappearing. Then repeat the steps and let the lower button go when that number of seconds has passed. Hard reset works, it's just insanely sensitive. Good luck. (In case you're wondering, I returned the Active 2 the next day.)
Fitbit: Do us a solid, and allow a couple seconds after that logo disappears for someone to let that button go!

All these "remedies" to fix it are not what I need! Ya'll are talking about holding 3 buttons, then letting go of 1 but holding the other 2, etc. I have a Versa LITE that only has 1 button!!!!!! Any suggestions how to factory reset that? I'm at the same spot at the initial poster with already having the app on my phone and the watch scrolling through different languages telling me to download the app!
