My Fitbit Versa has GPS in constant 'connecting' state. Frustrating when it wont connect. Any ideas?

It's great to welcome you @DamianT.
I would like to know if you have checked if your phone is a compatible mobile device? If you haven't, I recommend checking this information here. And about the GPS, I suggest taking a look at the help article Why isn't GPS working on my Fitbit device? and follow the instructions provide there.
Let me know the outcome. ![]()

Thank you for the informative answer. I will be following the links you provided, as I have also had issues connecting GPS on my Versa.

Can I suggest adding something to the instructions for Windows 10 phone users (and maybe others), to check the battery setting on the phone to enable Fitbit to be always on, rather than having it "managed by Windows".
It's the only way I got GPS to stay connected to the Versa on the Lumia 950. (Full explanation here).

Finally got my Versa to connect to the phone, thank you for helping. However, I preferred my old FitBit as it had GPS builtin so there wasn't a need to connect my mobile to it. The strap broke on it and I was told by the supplier that they weren't able to source a replacement so that's how I ended up with the Versa.
Sure all's well that ends well.......

Connected GPS sits in "Connecting..." forever on my new Versa.
Android 8.1.0
FitBit App 2.77
Versa firmware 32.32.10.15
Same phone, same app works seamlessly and perfectly on my Charge 2.
Please provide fix ETA/progress.
At least acknowledge a bug. Please.

Theres only one solution, use Strava to keep track of your exercises. If we have to use our phone to be able to connect our Versa to GPS we might as well use Strava. Download the Strava app. It works, always, unlike our Versas!
