Versa HR Off By 20+ Beats

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Versa is off by 20+ beats most of the time. I’ve tried different sides, wrist positions and neither has made a difference.

I had had a friend wear it today and measure it against his Ionic and the score was 155bbpm Ionic to 137 bpm Versa. RHR today measuring manually vs the watch was off 20-30 bpm too.

It was really wild yesterday exercising off by 30+ bpm consistently. My Charge 2 (wore it at the same time) was a lot more accurate.

Is there a firmeare upgrade on the on the way to address this? I really like the watch but I’m tempted to move on to a different device.

Thanks!

Hey @alpainter, it is great to see new faces around! I appreciate you have tried different things to try to get more accurate heart rate readings. Beside those tips, I'd like you to try the following:

- Turn the heart rate monitor OFF/ON

- Restart your Versa

- Sync it

Let me know how it goes!

Yeah, IMHO the Charge has the workhorse accurate HR sensor, and eveything that came after that has never lived up to the same performance. Note that the actual hardware is very different on the Charge 2 vs later generation trackers like Versa and Charge 3. Maybe to save cost/power/space? I also have a Versa. It's seems reasonably accurate up to about 130bpm but beyond that it is hit an miss (benchmarked on treadmill). You can see from the HR graphs that there are a lot of odd things happening that should not be there and never where there with the Charge 2, like sudden spikes and drops in the HR values. I am sort of 'living' with it.

Also at low bpm, like below 80??? Have you benchmarked against a correct HR sensor like treadmill, cheststrap, BP meter and the like? It sounds odd, most people experience differences at high HR but ok at low.

Thanks for the response, much appreciated! I actually returned it for a Charge 3, which I’m liking quite a bit.

I didn’t need all of the smart watch functionality and the longer battery life was a big draw so I made the switch.

It it has a great form factor, is really comfortable and does exactly what I need. Pretty nice piece of fitness kit!

Thanks for the response! I took it multiple times with my fingers on my neck to get the most accurate reading.

The Charge 3 seems to be a bit more in the ballpark.
