Versa Known Issues + Have to Pay to Return

I am a three-time owner of Fitbits, even owning a Fitbit scale, and have been behind the company since the beginning. I've encouraged so many of my friends and family to purchase but looks like I'll be moving on from the brand.

I was excited to spend my company's health stipend on the new Fitbit Versa. The first month with it was great but slowly the heart rate monitor's accuracy started to falter. Currently it is all over the place - sitting at my desk at work has me well over 100 one second, and then crashing down to 82 the next. It gets "stuck" on numbers for hours and when I was active it wouldn't budge over 108. As someone who relies heavily on the heart rate monitor of this device, it simply was unusable.

I reached out to Support to help and was told that there are known issues with the heart rate monitors being inaccurate and they and I quote, "May not be able to provide a fix in the immediate future."

Still within the refund window, I simply asked how to go about returning as this is a defective product and was aghast to learn that I had to pay upwards of $15.00 to return something that doesn't even work. What an awful way to do business and I look forward to not owning another in the future.

This is a case of the buyer not reading the Fitbit Returns & Warranty policy that is linked below.

I appreciate your opinion, but I’m not going to be made to feel differently about a product I’ve spent over $250 for that has become defective to the point of losing its purpose within less than 30 days of purchase being absolutely unacceptable and unethical. Fitbit should stand by their products and not further burden or inconvenience the customers that are keeping them in business and encouraging people to their brand. I also don’t appreciate the moderator editing my post for word choice. Formatting is understood, but it’s clear that this company’s values and ethics are questionable here.

All I'm saying is the return policy is clearly spelled out, it simply needs to be read, it is not so much as Buyer Beware, but buyer should do their research before purchasing.

I'm simply pointing out the legal documentation that is easily found below.
