My 9yo son has just bought himself a Versa Lite. He wasn’t interested in the Ace but now I can’t set up his Versa on his app without lying about his age.
I understand I can set up a family account but I no longer have a Fitbit myself as I switched to Garmin so I’m at a bit of a loss as to how to set him up.
What is is the minimum age that Fitbit deem to be ok to wear a Versa please?

Hello @GeorgesMum and a warm welcome. The age to set up a Versa (or anything a non-Ace) depends on the age of digital consent in your location. In the US, a child must be 13 or older. If you are in the EU (or on your way out, since your screen name is GeorgesMum) that age is set by the GDPR and that age varies by country. The UK is also 13.
You don't have to have a Fitbit to set up a Family Account. You still need a Fitbit account. This Help article will tell you what you need to know about a Family Account.
The only trackers that can be on a Family Account are the Ace/Ace2.

I have the same problem
Then Fitbit should tell explicitly that except Ace/Ace2 none of the device should be for kids.
I bought versa2 now and i thought i can add it as child account in my family account.
But now i have to create a dummy account for myself and then add my versa to that account or create an account for my kid and lie about his age .
This is bad
Fitbit should tell other models except Ace/Ace2 are not for kids and it wont work for kids
I feel cheated

I bought this watch for my 10 year old son who has type 1 diabetes so he can better monitor his blood sugar (via a Dexcom and watch face) It’s a shame I can’t add this to the kid account. Perhaps Fitbit should consider making a kids watch that has more advanced features? Or just let us add any watch we want as a parent.

This is an issue for me as well. I purchased Versas for both of my children for Christmas, and I’m now having difficulty figuring out how to sync both to my phone without creating accounts with fake birthdays. I can’t understand why we’re only able to add the Ace devices to the family account.

I am angry about this too. Fitbit should really be up front about this. I read several reviews before i bought the Versa Lite for my 9 year old. Versa Lite was even recommended for her age.
Shame on fitbit. I now have to lie about my child's age.

Hello everybody. Thanks for visiting the Fitbit Community.
Thank you for your feedback about letting children use other Fitbit devices than Fitbit Ace and Fitbit Ace 2.
For purposes of child privacy and protection, Fitbit requires that all registered users be at least 13 years old. As of May 2018, EU regulations changed the age of consent to 16 years of age for all EU member countries. You can find more information about this topic on the Fitbit Terms of Service.
For security and accuracy reasons we do not recommend faking the age when creating a Fitbit account. Daily stats like calories burned, distance, stride length, heart rate and other data is based on your height, weight, sex, and age. If the information you entered on your account is not correct, we cannot guarantee accurate readings. For more information, please visit this article.
