Versa Lite display won't turn on

Yesterday, 12 months to the day that i set up my Versa Lite, the screen has gone blank.  It's fully changed and is still syncing with the app.  I've followed the advice to reset, which I've never needed to do before, but nothing.  Fitbit have offered me a replacement but just wondering what the life expectancy is of these things.  Is it just coincidence that it's exactly 12 months ?
