even though it said not to, I tried a factory reset.. can't lose too much since I haven't been able to use it since I got it this morning. I'm now trying installation through my laptop instead of my phone and while the update this morning only took like 5 minutes, it's now saying it'll take almost an hour.. so.. something changed at least?

Have the same problem with getting an update and also though I had bought it in last year-middle-the face of the watch is marred by a splotch that makes reading the steps, etc difficult and I wish I knew how this had occurred!.don't think i would have paid this much money if I knew of this problem!
Hope of some rapid resolution.Now having trouble syncing with the app and with the Healthify Me app.I have to manually enter the steps and calories into the latter which sort of defeats the purpose don't you think?

what's the version of the update before november? I got 38.33.1.30 before and I couldn't use the device at all. I know the latest version is 70.7.14, that's the one I don't want I assume?

My Versa Lite in running the 38.33.1.30 version and all is perfect since November. I bought mine in October 2019 and I also tried to update the firmware as soon as it was announced. I couldn´t, as the tracker was in an infinite boot loop. One day I decided to uninstall the app in my Android phone, download the fitbit app for windows and connect the tracker, via USB using the charging cradle, to my laptop, which runs Windows 10. Windows did recognize the USB connection and immediate tried to connect itself, via Bluetooth, to the tracker. As soon as I allowed the Bluetooth connection the setup started. It took ages for the setup to finish, but all went good. Nowadays I receive every single text and call notification and syncing with the phone app (which I downloaded after setting everything up using the Windows app) is perfect. Please, give it a try.

yes I had that update before but I could not install any applications or clock faces, I couldn't change any settings because the app and the device versions weren't compatible, I couldn't start any workouts because it could not be sent to the app, for the same reason I assume.. I'm hoping I can at least get a version where I'm able to use the functions I bought the thing for as with version 38.33.1.30 all I can do is look at my currect heart rate.
I'm currently doing what you said, updating through windows, it's been going for about 45 minutes now, and it says there's 17 minutes left..

@Ann133, hi.
It´s not a driver, it is the fitbit app you download from Windows Store. It should have the option for setting up the Versa Lite. Unless there is a newer version of the app.

@Ann133 thank you for your reply.
That is very odd. Do you have the option of using another computer? If not, I do not know how to help you with that issue. I´m sorry.

so I've tried this and it's finally done.. and I got version 38.33.1.30 again! This is such an old version, I don't understand why it keeps installing a version that doesn't work with any of the functions of the app anymore..

I have the versa lite, and it's currently at 38.33.1.30
I just had a long phone call with the fitbit customer service and they said that this was incorrect, and the latest version for the versa lite is this 33.1.30, and they could not remotely update my device if they went into my account since it already has the latest version. At least I can connect it to my phone now and synchronise, and I've managed to install a clock face.

Wonder why when I download it from play store it is 70714? I would love the older version before november when it worked fine.
