Fitbit Update: 4/27

 

Hi, Versa Lite Fam!

 

Today we're announcing a new firmware: Fitbit OS 4.1.2(version:70.7.27), which addresses and solves the firmware update issue that was identified and reported in this thread. Please update to this new firmware once you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app. 

 

If you attempt this new update and have issues, PLEASE FOLLOW these step by step instructions in this article: Why can't I update my Fitbit device? 

 

DO NOT ever attempt a factory reset as a troubleshooting method for Versa Lite. Thank you all for your patience while a fix was put in place.

Hi Versa Lite users,

 

If you recently purchased a Versa Lite, or if you recently tried completing a firmware update and had issues our teams are aware of the problem.

 

We're currently investigating and working on a resolution. Please DO NOT perform a factory reset on the watch as a troubleshooting method. 

 

Instead, try the following:

  • Plug the watch into a computer and attempt the update over Bluetooth. You may need to resume the update if it fails a few times. Note: You must have the watch plugged into a computer to improve the chances of successfully updating. 
  • If you have more time available, contact our Customer Support and they can walk you through another method using a Windows 10 computer. 

As a side note, if you encounter any issues while updating it, please perform the troubleshooting mentioned in this article: Why can't I update my Fitbit device?

I don't have windows 10.  i have windows 7.  that is why i can not get it to work for me on the laptop or desktop

Am completely in shock.  Hubby was working with it and it suddenly started working. He did nothing different than I did but it is now working.  Whoohooo.

Well, that was nice.  Worked for a while but the app is locked up again and is not syncing as it should.  Hit and miss on syncing now.

@Ann133 @Same here. It’s either hit or miss on syncing my Versa Lite. 🤷🏻‍:female_sign:

I had to force stop the app because it is draining my phone trying to.install the clockface over and over.

I have had this issue for 48 hours plugged into my laptop and has took a good 18 hrs to update and soon as it does it fails haven't been able to use it spoke to support they told me about Windows 10 but I don't have that as I rarely use my laptop wits end with it tried everything hope it gets sorted soon as its pointless having it otherwise

I wish I would get a replacement too as I am feud with constant manual feeding in of the steps, etc and the splotch in the middle of the face.

Have you contacted them already? If so, I have done the same and they were no help at all as to when they were going to fix this issue. 🤷🏻‍:female_sign:

I will contacting corporate headquarters.  supports hands are tied

  Seems all they can do  is send out replacements which does nothing but prolong the problem. They need to fix the firmwarere.

Hi everyone

I'm happy to inform you I managed to fix my Fitbit Versa Lite after I did a
fabric restart. My Fitbit stopped working, even the clock, it was useless.
Here is what I did just a few minutes ago:

I installed the Fitbit app in the computer with Windows 10, I logged in
into my account, I tried to pair the Versa Lite with this Fitbit computer
app, but it didn't give me the option of the Versa Lite, only the Versa.
After many times trying, I PAIR THE VERSA LITE ONE MORE TIME WITH MY
PHONE(FITBIT APP)
After that I open the Fitbit app from the computer and when I logged in it
showed the Versa lite was paired already. So I tried to pair again with the
computer app and this time it gave me the option of the Versa Lite . In
less than 1 minute the Watch was fixed.

I hope this info is good for you, I wish someone told me about this
before.sorry about my English and good Luck
