Fitbit Update: 4/27

Hi, Versa Lite Fam!

Today we're announcing a new firmware: Fitbit OS 4.1.2(version:70.7.27), which addresses and solves the firmware update issue that was identified and reported in this thread. Please update to this new firmware once you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app.

If you attempt this new update and have issues, PLEASE FOLLOW these step by step instructions in this article: Why can't I update my Fitbit device?

DO NOT ever attempt a factory reset as a troubleshooting method for Versa Lite. Thank you all for your patience while a fix was put in place.

Fitbit Update: 12/12

Hi Versa Lite users,

If you recently purchased a Versa Lite, or if you recently tried completing a firmware update and had issues our teams are aware of the problem.

We're currently investigating and working on a resolution. Please DO NOT perform a factory reset on the watch as a troubleshooting method.

Instead, try the following:

  • Plug the watch into a computer and attempt the update over Bluetooth. You may need to resume the update if it fails a few times. Note: You must have the watch plugged into a computer to improve the chances of successfully updating.
  • If you have more time available, contact our Customer Support and they can walk you through another method using a Windows 10 computer.

As a side note, if you encounter any issues while updating it, please perform the troubleshooting mentioned in this article: Why can't I update my Fitbit device?

Thanks for your understanding and cooperation while we work hard on a fix.

So what your telling me is since I don't have a computer I'm out of luck. My versa lite wasn't clearing messages so I factory reset it and for the last day and a half have been trying to reconnect and update it and have gotten nowhere

I don't have Windows 10 either, My boyfriend has... So you better ask a friend to help you...

Thanks God it's working fine know... But it's showing that there's an update and I'm not going to do anything because I'm afraid it's going to ruin my watch again.

I’ve been trying for a week to get this stupid firmware update done. It’s just a little over 50%. I don’t have a computer with windows 10. My Fitbit had been a vital part of my daily routines, but it’s been sitting on my nightstand for days. Thinking about biting the bullet and just getting an Apple Watch instead. Hubby got the versa and hasn’t had a single issue with his but even he can’t get my lite to update. Between work and helping my daughter while my granddaughter is in the nicu, I don’t have time to deal with customer support as I rarely have 20 minutes of down time right now. I just want this thing to work again.

@kbonney has your husband tried to update through his phone?

Simply turn your phones Bluetooth off.

On his phone log into your Fitbit account. He/you can try an update.

He has. We’ve literally done everything except hook up to a computer with windows 10.

Ever since this firmware update my watch has become useless. I mean I might as well just flush it down the toilet like a dead goldfish. I have tried everything and I mean everything and nothing works. It hasn't even made it halfway through the update yet and I started trying at least 2 weeks before Christmas. Kinda puts a new meaning to being slower than Christmas! Lolol. I figured whatever bugs or issues this update has caused would be fixed by now but it's been a month and it's still trying to update. Help!!

I can not believe that there hasn't been a single reply from someone from
Fitbit. So disappointed. I had a Garmin prior to getting my versa and the
only reason I didn't like the Garmin was because of the button placement...
Sure as hell didn't have any issues other then that. I'm just going to take
mine back to visions where I have the extended warranty , get a new one and
give it one more try... Hope it works since my wife has since adopted the
Garmin.

What if I have already factory reset the device? I wasn't aware of this issue and I already did it and now my watch is struck on the Fitbit logo and nothing is happening.

About 2 weeks ago my Fitbit Versa was getting notifications and then all of a sudden it stopped. I have tried everything to get it restarted, called Fitbit for help and still nothing. So I feel I am not getting the full experience out of my Fitbit and when I asked for a replacement I was told that it was not a problem with my Versa but could be with my phone. I can accept and reject calls just cant get other notifications. Soooooo not happy right now.
