Hi, Versa Lite Fam!

 

Today we're announcing a new firmware: Fitbit OS 4.1.2(version:70.7.27), which addresses and solves the firmware update issue that was identified and reported in this thread. Please update to this new firmware once you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app. 

 

If you attempt this new update and have issues, PLEASE FOLLOW these step by step instructions in this article: Why can't I update my Fitbit device? 

 

DO NOT ever attempt a factory reset as a troubleshooting method for Versa Lite. Thank you all for your patience while a fix was put in place.

Hi Versa Lite users,

 

If you recently purchased a Versa Lite, or if you recently tried completing a firmware update and had issues our teams are aware of the problem.

 

We're currently investigating and working on a resolution. Please DO NOT perform a factory reset on the watch as a troubleshooting method. 

 

Instead, try the following:

  • Plug the watch into a computer and attempt the update over Bluetooth. You may need to resume the update if it fails a few times. Note: You must have the watch plugged into a computer to improve the chances of successfully updating. 
  • If you have more time available, contact our Customer Support and they can walk you through another method using a Windows 10 computer. 

As a side note, if you encounter any issues while updating it, please perform the troubleshooting mentioned in this article: Why can't I update my Fitbit device?

Not really my dear because my notifications just can't be seen due to a big blotch on the face -cause unknown!

My versa lite rebooted yesterday due to the angle of my wrist, I wear it on the right as I'm a lefty and the button was held down by my jacket cuff!!!  It's now stuck in upgrade mode and I keep starting from scratch with upgrade by turning off bluetooth and re trying.  Any tips?

I don't understand the computer fix.  When I turn on my bluetooth to my computer, it doesn't pick up my fitbit because it's off and I can't get it turn on.  How do you get the computer to recognize the fitbit?

It won't fix until they correct the error. Somehow, when I updated mine, it went fuzzy and I entered factory reset.Now, I only get the fitbit icon and it won't down load the app. I placed mine in a drawer until they fix it . Their not going to payfor the error.

Best bet is to place it in a safe place and wait for the update to correct the error.

Hi,

 

A company called Resolver will help you with this case, I have the same issues as many other people.

 

We are entitled to A REFUND, and not to be fobbed off with a refurbished replacement, which could just be exactly the same!!!

 

Totally not acceptable, and against your consumer rights!

I am sorry as I too am wearing mine on the right wrist to prevent any blotches due to trauma if that is the cause!
Am still entering everything manually myself-very tiresome!

After my Versa Lite update to version 38.70.7.14 I am not receiving notifications from Messenger or Messenger Lite. It is marked in app notifications but doesn't work. When I enter notifications menu in Fitbit app there is red message on top:

"Notification service not runnig. A phone restart is required to re-enable notifications on your tracker" 

I tried phone restart, watch restart, bluetooth turn off/on, uninstall Messenger, install Messenger Lite. Doesn't work. Any ideas how to solve it?

I know not to do factory reset on watch after last update.

I unfortunately made the mistake of factory resetting the Fitbit before I saw this and it won't turn back on what should I do

If it's under warranty from where you purchased it take it back, if not
contact Fitbit and I have heard they will send you a replacement. Same
thing happened to mine and I just returned it to visions and they gave me a
brand new one.

I am having the same problem as a number of these other people. I got my Versa 2 about a week ago and it of course updated as soon as I turned it on and connected to my Galaxy S8. It talks to the phone fine as far as syncing goes, but I get no notifications from my phone. It was sending phone call notifications, but that has stopped too now.
I did a factory reset not knowing that I wasn't supposed to and that seems to be when it stopped telling me I was getting a phone call.

Mine is the same and will not sync to app.

My versa lite is not even recognised by Bluetooth on my iPhone XR

I just bought a versa and was excited to use it. But when i went to set it up, it would not finish downloading the update. i talked to two different people from fitbit customer support and no help. i don't know what to do......seems like I'm not the only one with this problem but there is no real solution at this point. biggest waste of money for me so far

My Versa lite is stuck on the fitbit logo after attempting to do the update.

It keeps resetting but does not go to the home screen with all the settings and apps therefore i cannot use the PC update method as i cannot connect to bluetooth.

 

Has anyone else experienced this?

Please can someone assist urgently as I am at my witts end now!

Ring Fitbit - they were unable to sort mine over the phone.
Just sent mine back to them when received they will send me a new one

Mine was the same as that, try force shutting down, hold the top and left hand button together.

What address did you send it to and was there someone who was aware that you were returning it ?

 

I reside in South Africa and there are no contact numbers that I can utilize to inform them or get assistance over the phone.

I have a Versa Lite.

This only has 1 button but I have also tried the force shut down and it doesn't work.
