Hi, Versa Lite Fam!

 

Today we're announcing a new firmware: Fitbit OS 4.1.2(version:70.7.27), which addresses and solves the firmware update issue that was identified and reported in this thread. Please update to this new firmware once you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app. 

 

If you attempt this new update and have issues, PLEASE FOLLOW these step by step instructions in this article: Why can't I update my Fitbit device? 

 

DO NOT ever attempt a factory reset as a troubleshooting method for Versa Lite. Thank you all for your patience while a fix was put in place.

Hi Versa Lite users,

 

If you recently purchased a Versa Lite, or if you recently tried completing a firmware update and had issues our teams are aware of the problem.

 

We're currently investigating and working on a resolution. Please DO NOT perform a factory reset on the watch as a troubleshooting method. 

 

Instead, try the following:

  • Plug the watch into a computer and attempt the update over Bluetooth. You may need to resume the update if it fails a few times. Note: You must have the watch plugged into a computer to improve the chances of successfully updating. 
  • If you have more time available, contact our Customer Support and they can walk you through another method using a Windows 10 computer. 

As a side note, if you encounter any issues while updating it, please perform the troubleshooting mentioned in this article: Why can't I update my Fitbit device?

I tried that with my computer and it still didn't work. Did you use a
computer, laptop or tablet?

You need to keep trying i did it for about 30 times, figured I had no other choice but to do that many times.Just remember if it does update, will the watch perform all functions as before. Mine didn't...

This is useful information, but I have already performed factory reset and I was not aware how to connect fitbit with computer. Can you please help me what shall I do next.??  I purchased versa lite in November 2019

I bought a Fitbit Versa Lite yesterday and spent the entire day troubleshooting an impossible setup. Tried everything, went to every article and forum, and spoke with Fitbit Customer Service on the phone and tried everything they came up with- nothing worked. The only option was to send back for a replacement or refund.

 

I opted for a refund because I was so disappointed at being sent a defective product and it seems to be common with this model, so I did not want a replacement. I had an Alta for several years and loved it, and was very excited to get a Versa Lite but was disillusioned due to being sent a broken product.

 

I am being forced to pay for shipping to send it back, and will not receive a refund on the original shipping cost. This, despite being sent a defective product. This is not me changing my mind, in which case I would completely accept having to pay shipping costs. This is a defective product that will not even turn on- I have not even had a chance to use it for a moment. I don't understand why I am now out $20 because I was sent a defective product. I spoke about this at length on the phone and was met with obstinate replies every time, with zero flexibility.

 

This is beyond unacceptable customer service. $20 is not the end of the world, but when the company is 100% responsible for an issue, a customer should not have to pay a single dollar. I do not understand how customer service can operate this way. If this is not resolved, I will be purchasing an Apple Watch and will be spreading the word about the unacceptable treatment of customers at Fitbit.

Mine took two days to update and now it’s not working.  It won’t come on at all.  I never really got to use it.  It’s just a 100 dollar decoration on my desk.  So disappointed.

I got my fitbit about months ago. I have tried everything and my fitbit will still not update. I really need help! I really like my fitbit until I started having problems.

I have a Versa Lite too and I wasn't using it for a while and I factory reset it before storing away.  Don't ask me why I did that.  I don't know. 

 

Anyways, I've been trying to update my Versa Lite since last night.  I've tried everything.  Right now I have the charger plugged into my laptop via USB port and the Versa Lite is on the charger.  Now, remove the device from your account in the app on your phone.  Turn Blutooth off on your phone.  Put the phone aside. 

 

On your computer, download the Fitbit app from the Microsoft Store.  Launch the app and sign in. 

From this app set up your device on the computer. 

Make sure your device is plugged in to a USB port on the computer. 

 

My Versa Lite is updating while I'm typing this and it finally has gone past where it left off last night.  I hope this helps. 

 

UPDATE. Took about an hour and the uodate worked.

I can't even get mine to come on now. I about ready to give up. Very
upset with Fitbit right now. My husband gave me it to me for a Christmas
present and I can't even use it. I luckily hung onto my Charge 2 so I am
still able to track my activity. I think Fitbit needs to make it good and
refund our money.

I had just purchased my virsa lite and it won’t let me update it. I was able to connect the watch to the app but won’t update it. I have tried all day to update will start to load and then eventually quiet on updating it. I have tried restarting my iPhone, turned my Bluetooth off and on, tried restarting my watch, and even tried using my MacBook Air to update it which resulted in my watch just disconnecting from it. 

What can I do so I can get my Fitbit to work so I can actually use it?

Just wondering if you got problem resolved as this is pretty much what is happening to me. I tried to fix it with factory reset and won’t connect to phone and won’t do update am so so annoyed with this feel like shouldn’t have upgraded my Fitbit only had it six months

I’m still having issues and have pretty much given up trying to fix it.  My Fitbit is now just collecting dust.  It was a waste of money.  Sorry you are having issues as well.
