If you do what fitbit support says then they send you a replacement keep in mind that you cant get a refund then. If you want a refund it has to be the original fitbit.

Hi I have been have major issues with my Fitbit versa, since march 2019 I purchased in July 2018 with extra years warranty. My main issues originally was not sustain battery for more than a day, and screen occasionally wouldn't come on, I was so busy I've just left it in a draw, I tried to start using it a couple of months later and noticed it was reading heart rate, infra red light isn't on and not syncing to the app. Again I put it in the draw thinking about getting round to it, after playing around its saying it needs hardware update, I've attempted several times but never completes even left for 6 hours on charge next to my phone still no joy! After reading about the issues online about hardware glitch I have tried to charge it and it will now not charge, it's on the dock and it's not acknowledging any signs of charging! my additional warranty expires in July so I want to get this sorted asap!! Also as easily as possible never have I come across so many issues as I have with this smart watch!

I've just come across these help forums. I recently bought a Versa Lite and have been having issues with updating. I see now you mention NOT to do a factory reset .... unfortunately I did a factory reset about 4 days ago, however it didn't help and I still can't update the firmware.

Just got off chat. Once again my fitbit replacement is ruined by the update and I have to pay postage to return the defective one to them to get yet another replacement. Seems they cant refund more than 45 days after purchase. What terrible customer service.

I have tried every single thing I could find, I've uninstalled and reinstalled fitbit app on my phone and my laptop multiple times. I've tried it with my new Versa lite plugged into my computer to charge, I've tried it with my laptop, while I had phone turned off and vice versa. I've tried rebooting every device many times. What else can I possibly try?

I've just bought this one yesterday, and received it today. And I've been trying to solve this problem since I got it, about 5 hours ago. Nothing has changed in all that time of trying different fixes. The device is still at version 38.33.1.30 and every time I uninstall/reboot/reinstall everything it says it's updating and it shows me a green check mark. Yet when I try to install a new clock face or an app, it says that I need to update the firmware for the device or my phone.

but there's not even an option to update it. And right now I can't use any of the functions I bought the thing for. The only thing I can use it for right now is checking my current heart rate. That's it.

Once they send you a replacement which is refurbished they wont refund you. Get a refund while you can. I would take it back to the store if I were you and get another brand that there are good reviews on.

This issue literally has me crying. I spend every penny I had saved on this thing only to find out it's messed up. The place I bought it is no help and fitbit customer support is not replying, this was my last hope.

I think I might have to do that.. this is the only device I could afford that had the functions that I want and that doesn't look horrible..

I can return my device within 30 days without giving a reason so that should be fine.
