I had no option but to try as my original one wouldn't work without it. the refurbished one they then sent out also wouldn't work unless I did. I'm awaiting my third replacement that will arrive tomorrow but I dont hold out much hope!

@steamman you can sync through a computer.
Install Win connect or the Win10 app. Use the computers Bluetooth or a BT dongle

So when I keep getting a notification on to update it I should ignore it?
Also for future notice what do they (Fitbit Team) mean when they say ' Make sure your fitbit app in running in the background'

it almost feels like the firmware update is just a virus to stop your fitbit working. in the hope you will all upgrade and they can cease production of versa lites. my original slowly stopped all functioning. now it wont even charge. I dont understand how a company as big as fit bit can treat there customers like idiots and expect us to just deal with the fact we have a unusable device that wasnt cheap. I just want my money back end of! but it's an impossible task as I bought in a store not directly from fitbit

If you can find out when and where is was bought the will replace if in warranty. They know exactly what you have and when I told them they confirmed while still on chat. Sent me a new one and it was given to me in July.
