Fitbit Update: 4/27

 

Hi, Versa Lite Fam!

 

Today we're announcing a new firmware: Fitbit OS 4.1.2(version:70.7.27), which addresses and solves the firmware update issue that was identified and reported in this thread. Please update to this new firmware once you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app. 

 

If you attempt this new update and have issues, PLEASE FOLLOW these step by step instructions in this article: Why can't I update my Fitbit device? 

 

DO NOT ever attempt a factory reset as a troubleshooting method for Versa Lite. Thank you all for your patience while a fix was put in place.

Hi Versa Lite users,

 

If you recently purchased a Versa Lite, or if you recently tried completing a firmware update and had issues our teams are aware of the problem.

 

We're currently investigating and working on a resolution. Please DO NOT perform a factory reset on the watch as a troubleshooting method. 

 

Instead, try the following:

  • Plug the watch into a computer and attempt the update over Bluetooth. You may need to resume the update if it fails a few times. Note: You must have the watch plugged into a computer to improve the chances of successfully updating. 
  • If you have more time available, contact our Customer Support and they can walk you through another method using a Windows 10 computer.

Downloaded the app to my computer.  Went to set it up and does not give the choice to set up a versa lite

I have tried and tried to update! So very frustrated and now I don’t even have a clock face, it won’t load a new one either. If I could return to store I would. Totally disappointed!

Since there is no longer an option to setup a versa lite for me I am thinking they are not even trying to fix the update and we are all screwed.  Horrible way to treat customers.

Has anyone received an update to fix the update?

Am on chat with them now trying to find out.  She is just trying to get me to do.all of the troubleshooting again.

They claim they’re going to fix the issue and I even asked them how long it would take, but @Fitbit didn't have that information. 🙄

@Ann133 That’s what they kept doing to me too. They kept referring me back to the troubleshooting which wasn’t a help at all. It’s really sad that Fitbit has to disappoint their customers. 😞

I was on chat with them for 2 hours doing all the troubleshooting. Mine
still doesn't connect to anything, not matter what device it is not
recognized. I was advised to wait for an update to the update.

@SNixon That’s why I referred back to my original Versa Lite and it works just fine...for now. I’ll see what happens when they finally have the update or IF they have the update soon. 🤷🏻‍:female_sign:

Did you factory reset it?

I just received mine for christmas. I took it out and it asked for the
update as soon as we turned it on. I havent actually got to use it yet.

After I told her changing the clock face locks it up she said I can always change the clockface.....lololol

I asked for corporate headquarters.  She said they just have a warehouse. No repair center.

I wont hold my breath.  They cant even give out the address for corporate headquarters.  She said the support team would review the issue and get back to me

i told her that i would love if they could let us go back to the software before the update.  she said i should suggest that on the community discussion page...lol
