Fitbit Update: 4/27
Hi, Versa Lite Fam!
Today we're announcing a new firmware: Fitbit OS 4.1.2(version:70.7.27), which addresses and solves the firmware update issue that was identified and reported in this thread. Please update to this new firmware once you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app.
If you attempt this new update and have issues, PLEASE FOLLOW these step by step instructions in this article: Why can't I update my Fitbit device?
DO NOT ever attempt a factory reset as a troubleshooting method for Versa Lite. Thank you all for your patience while a fix was put in place.

If you recently purchased a Versa Lite, or if you recently tried completing a firmware update and had issues our teams are aware of the problem.
We're currently investigating and working on a resolution. Please DO NOT perform a factory reset on the watch as a troubleshooting method.

I have being doing this for the last day and now trying on computer. Does the phone also need to have the app installed for this to update via computer ?

@CAmc I'm not sure what your doing, if your phone has been connected to the Versa you may want to turn the phones Bluetooth off, or remove the Versa from the phones trusted Bluetooth devices.

So it took 8 hours and update complete from windows 10 Only and it was removed from my phone - so glad that i had patience with it.

sorry to hear this @CAmc where you logged into the same account on the computer? The tracker got removed from your Fitbit account.

I have tried everything mentioned, short of contacting your support staf and my Versa Lite still won't finish updating.
I did a factory reset on my watch before I saw this thread, and saw the instructions not to do a factory reset.
What would you recommend I do?

I contacted support directly and they told me I had already done everything they would tried. As a result, they have issued a replacement watch to me. The tech support service was fast, courteous and professional.
I guess i will be more cautious about applying firmware updates in the future. I will do some checking before applying as soon as it is available.

it was a success so no apologies required ! I was logged in on the App via windows 10 computer . The Fitbit was also plugged into computer via usb it took 8 hours to complete . I removed The app and switched off Bluetooth on my phone. Once the Fitbit was synced to my computer app for about 30 mins I then reinstalled the app on my phone and synced it back to my phone it took a whole day and patience !

Hi there I bought my versa lite 2 days ago, I'm on firmware version 38.33.1.30 and cannot install spotify as it says I need to make sure my fitbit device has the latest update (which I believe is 70.7.14) however I have no option to update my firmware? I have left all day sync on for 2 days now and tried to connect to my computer to update but it says that there is no update available?

Hello @Krawdad you will need to start from scratch. If you haven't done so yet, go into the app and do an add device to setup the tracker.
You may have to remove the tracker from the phones Bluetooth list.

I just got the Vera 2 for Christmas and not happy at all with this so far. It doesn’t stay synced and I can’t get text message to show from iPhone. It’s an expensive watch right now :(( how soon before updates for fixing these issues or should I just return the watch

Just got my third replacement from fitbit today...the second one never made it to me...suspecting someone got it as a christmas present, anyway now I am afraid to even set up the replacement as it will do the same as the others with the update.
