Versa Lite is deleting my steps after syncing

My versa lite is tracking my steps but yesterday I was on 9,700 when I last looked at it yet when I synced with the app after midnight it now says I only did 8000 steps yesterday. This is really annoying when making an effort to keep my step count up- is there a way to restore the original steps taken?

Hi there @Clareebr, welcome to the Community Forums. I'm sorry to hear that your Versa Lite is dropping your steps after syncing, I understand how annoying this must be. Thanks for the details provided, I'll be glad to help you.

By any chance, did you manually log any activity that day? Typically, your steps will be recalculated if you manually log an activity as the manually logged activity takes precedence over the steps you tracked while wearing your watch at that point in time. For example, if I am wearing my watch and by walking I reach 10,000 steps, then I go to the Fitbit app and manually log an activity that starts and ends at that point in time, let's say 1 hour, Fitbit will calculate how many steps you took and may bring your step count to something below 10,000 steps.

However, if this is the first time you experience something like this and you didn't manually log any activity, we are not sure what might have caused this, but we would expect this to be one glitch and I would ask you to keep an eye on your Versa Lite. In case this happens again, please let me know and I will be glad to further investigate.

About the steps missed from that day, you can manually add them by following the steps provided here: How do I manually log exercises in the Fitbit app?
